The DMX-Hero
Control DMX devices wirelessly from a Wifi enabled device with an OSC app (eg TouchOSC on iOS or Android) WITHOUT requiring a computer, DMX controller or Wifi router.
I have got enough queries about the DMX-Hero to set up a web page, so here it is!
I have been controlling lighting/ DMX devices with the iPad for a while but with a Wifi enabled computer running my own software and a DMX controller like the Lanbox. I felt that this was a bit unnecessary and I wanted to free up my computer as I'm often doing heavy video and sound stuff. I had a good look and didn't see anything like this around and stand alone wireless DMX kits seem to be very expensive (£1000's!), so I made the DMX-Hero. I have tested it with Microphone cable, DMX cable, Cat5e network cable on long runs with several devices (100+ channels) and not had a problem. However, it hasn't had a tremendous amount of field testing and is still ripe for some development.
